What is Blundstone's commitment to the environment?
Blundstone is committed to manufacturing processes that are environmentally compliant and we actively work to improve our business practices and minimise our impact on the environment.
We only do business with suppliers in countries that we believe are sufficiently active in monitoring, and improving, environmental impact and practices. Since the instigation of this process, no breaches have been identified.
Leather is considered a renewable material, and we currently source 95% of our leather from sustainably certified tanneries. FIT & SIZING
-
I'm confused about sizing, how do I know my size?
Our Blundstone size is a UK size. All of our boots have the UK size stamped on the bottom of the boot.
We use universally standardised measurements for all our boots, however, the use of different materials and the shape of our boots can impact how they fit. How a boot feels will also depend on the shape of your feet.
Our three key size and fit tools will help you understand the differences and make the right choice for your next pair.
These icons can be found on every product’s Fit & Size tab for quick reference. (Next to the Description, Delivery and Boot Care tabs.)
Our
Size Guide page offers further guidance.
If you are still uncertain about which size to select find your nearest retailer with our
Store Finder here, or call us for advice, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday on 0800 132 194.
Remember, we do accept returns should the fit not be suitable.
-
How do Blundstone boots fit?
Blundstone boots typically have a loose fit. There should be roughly 1cm width of space from your toes to the top of the boots. If the front of your foot is touching the boot, they’re too small.
When walking it’s normal for there to be a slight amount of heel lift in the boot.
With repeated use, your Blundstone boots will stretch slightly over the instep, but never stretch lengthwise.
If you have the correct size but the boot still feels a bit generous, you can add extra insoles under the footbed or thicker socks to take up the space.
The Blundstone half sizes indicate an increase in the width, not the length of a Blundstone boot.
When you try on a new pair of Blundstones make sure you try them on standing, wearing socks that you’d usually wear with boots.
It’s important to walk around and get a sense of how they feel.
Please try them on a carpeted surface so that the bottom of the boots are protected.
Please refer to our
Size Guide for further information or call us for advice, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday on 0800 132 194.

What are the differences between the Originals and Classics Series?
Our Originals and Classics Series are home to some of our most popular styles—like our iconic #500 and our best-selling #585. While they both feature our instantly recognisable design, there are some differences which we've outlined below.
— Our Classics Series has a wider fit compared to our Originals Series, so is great for those who need a little extra room.
— Our Classics Series also has a leather lining and additional cushioning in the footbed for added softness.

What are Blundstone boots made of?
Blundstone boots come in a range of materials and each product on this website lists the individual style’s materials.
Upper materials include premium leather, nubuck and suede. We also have a Vegan Series that is 100% vegan certified. As a general rule the
Originals and
Safety Series are unlined. The
Classics, Thermal Series and
Kid’s Series are leather and textile lined. The typical Blundstone outsole is made from polyurethane, though this will depend on the Series and style.
-
How much do Blundstone boots weigh?
Blundstone footwear is renowned for being lightweight and flexible from the outset.
The approximate weight of a pair of size 8
Blundstone Classics 550 boots is 960 grams.
This weight varies depending on the shoe size and the model.
The boots in
Thermal Series are slightly heavier due to the increased number of materials used in their production.
-
How high are the heels in the Women's Series?
Our Women's Cuban heel boots are built for comfort, without sacrificing style. Our Chelsea low heeled styles (#1671, #1673, #1677, #2060, #2165) have a 5cm heel, while our high heel (#2365, #2366) measures 7.5cm high.

-
Can Blundstone boots fit orthotics?
We offer a wide range of unisex footwear for both men and women. Our unisex styles are a generous fit with our Classics' Series offering slightly more volume inside the boot.
Depending on the orthotic, most of our unisex styles should be able to accommodate the addition. Simply remove the insole and replace with your own orthotics. When purchasing from our website, you always have the option of returning boots if the fit is not correct for you.
-
How to soften Blundstone boots?
Blundstone boots are lightweight and comfortable from the outset. Wearing them regularly will help to soften and make them even more comfortable.
-
Do Blundstone boots stretch?
Leather will stretch slightly with wear across the top of the foot at it's flex point. The leather will never stretch to provide additional length.
When purchasing your new Blundstone footwear, aim for a snug fit, but ensure there is no discomfort once on. Boots should be neither too tight or to loose, as each can cause discomfort and possible damage to your feet.
-
Are Blundstone soles non-marking?
Our footwear is designed to be non-marking due to the opaque TPU material used in our durable soles. We do however recommend testing our products on any surface you may be concerned with as results may vary.
-
How long do Blundstone boots last?
How long your boots last will depend on a number of factors. Where will they be worn? How often will they be worn? What will they be exposed to? How well will they be cared for? Every one experiences different wear and tear with their footwear, so the lifespan of a Blundstone can vary.
Assuming there are no faults and there is an average amount of wear and tear, we would expect Blundstone boots to last between 2 to 7 years, with all of the above factors taken into consideration. Please note this does not imply or guarantee an expectation of service life.
Blundstone boots are made from premium, durable materials but will benefit from regular care and cleaning. To extend their life read our

Are Blundstones waterproof?
As leather is a natural material, it does not offer full waterproof protection.
The leather used in our range of footwear has some water-resistant properties due to the tanning process used on the hides.
Selected styles in our range have a water-resistant treatment to the leather at that stage which enhances the materials ability to repel water. When exposed to rain, or wet terrain, the leather should provide protection from the elements but we don't recommend prolonged exposure to moisture.
If your leather boots do become wet, allow them to dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to an artificial heat source as this can cause considerable damage to the leather and may lead to it becoming dry and brittle.
We recommend regular use of a waterproof spray or wax to enhance the resistance to moisture.

-
How often should I waterproof my Blundstone boots?
Regular waterproofing of your boots will help to protect against stains and water damage as well as protecting the natural oils in the leather.
We recommend waterproofing your boots every 3 months, depending on use. If you live in a wetter climate we recommend increasing this frequency.
Our waterproof spray has been designed for use on any leather product in our range.

How do I care for my innersoles?
